What a Wattz EV rental includes

A rental plan only helps if you can see the bill before you book. Here is what a Wattz EV rental includes, from the Wattz FAQ on 11 Oct 2026.
The rate is on the car
There is no single weekly bundle price. Each listing shows its own daily rate before you pay. On the FAQ, a Tesla Model 3 starts from RM 550 a day, and a Tesla Model Y starts from RM 550 a day. Long-range 2026 Model Y units run up to RM 750 a day. Every other car, including the Proton e.MAS, is priced on its own page: see the fleet.
Money that is not the daily rate
Security deposit. This is a pre-authorised hold, not a charge. It is RM 500 when the car's market value is under RM 150,000, RM 1,000 from RM 150,000 to RM 250,000, and RM 2,500 above RM 250,000. With no claim, the hold is released 3 to 5 business days after you return the car.
Distance. Every booking includes 250 km, for the whole booking, not per day. Extra kilometres are RM 0.50/km on budget EVs, RM 1.00/km on mid-range EVs, and RM 1.50/km on premium EVs. An unlimited-distance add-on is on the booking page if you need it.
Charging. The car arrives with at least 90% charge. Bring it back with at least 80%. Public charging and home electricity during the rental are yours to pay. A charging guide goes out at handover. (The 90% start is there so a first EV weekend is not a science experiment.)
Insurance, age, and where you can drive
Every Wattz rental includes mandatory comprehensive insurance. You cannot decline it. It covers third-party liability, damage to the vehicle, and theft or fire. If there is a claim, the excess is RM 2,000 for a car under RM 150,000, RM 3,500 from RM 150,000 to RM 300,000, and RM 5,000 above RM 300,000. The excess comes out of the security deposit first.
You need a driver's licence held for at least 2 years. Renters are at least 21, or 25 if the car is valued above RM 250,000. A foreign visitor needs an International Driving Permit plus their home licence, and identity verification with a passport or MyKad. The car stays in Malaysia. The guest terms do not allow a drive into Singapore, Thailand, or Brunei.
If your plans change
Cancel more than 48 hours before pickup and the rental fee and insurance fee come back in full. The platform fee is not refunded. Cancel 24 to 48 hours before pickup and those rental and insurance fees come back at 50%. Cancel inside 24 hours, or miss the pickup, and there is no refund.
Pickup is the address on that car's listing. The exact pin arrives once the trip is booked. A delivery add-on can be added at booking. The FAQ does not publish a flat delivery fee, so ask for the area and the price before you rely on it.
If the question is whether a Proton e.MAS fits your week, and whether the rental can count toward buying one, that is RENTFLIX: up to 3 days, and 100% of the fee back as downpayment credit if you buy through Wattz within 30 days. See RENTFLIX.
