TL;DR

  • ChargEV cuts its price per kWh by 15% at 30 sites from 13 to 30 Oct 2026, SoyaCincau reports. No promo code and no minimum spend.

  • An RM1.40 charger drops to RM1.19 per kWh, and an RM1.60 charger drops to RM1.36.

  • On a 30 kWh top-up, the saving is RM6.30 to RM7.20 by our arithmetic.

This month, the ChargEV price per kWh at 30 named sites sits 15% under the usual rate, up to 30 Oct 2026. The question for an owner is simple: is a detour to one of these sites worth it?

Where does the ChargEV 15% discount apply?

ChargEV picked 30 sites around the country, Sabah and Sarawak included, SoyaCincau reports. The SoyaCincau article carries the full list by state, so check it before you plan a stop.

Plain words on the rules: start the charger in the ChargEV app and the price drops by itself. The report does not say if the discount covers AC chargers too. Its examples use DC rates only. It does not mention idle fees or JomCharge and Gentari app users.

One date conflict: the SoyaCincau headline says "until 31 October", but the body quotes ChargEV with 13 to 30 Oct 2026. Plan for 30 Oct.

How much does a top-up cost with the discount?

Here is our arithmetic, for a 30 kWh top-up:

The sums are 30 x rate, and 15% of RM42.00 is RM6.30. The ChargeSini rate comes from a SoyaCincau report of 01 Sep 2026. That report also found some ChargeSini sites off this rate, so check the app.

What does this change for owners nearby?

The discount closes a gap, for a short time. In September, ChargeSini set RM1.19 per kWh for its public DC chargers at 40kW and below, SoyaCincau reported. ChargEV at RM1.40 now meets that rate until 30 Oct. A charger listed at RM1.60 still costs more than ChargeSini's RM1.29 for 60kW to 80kW, even after 15% off.

ChargEV has run short discounts before. In June 2026, the Gemas and Kuala Kangsar sites opened with 20% off, but only with a promo code and only to 29 June. This one needs no code and runs to 30 Oct. For more charging basics, see our Tesla charging guide for Malaysia.

Arjun's take

Fifteen percent sounds big on a banner. On a 30 kWh top-up, it is RM6.30 at an RM1.40 charger. Nice, but not worth a long detour. Burn more battery on the way and you hand the saving back. If one of these 30 sites is already on your daily route, then charge there before 30 Oct, lah. The bigger story is the price war. ChargEV now meets ChargeSini at RM1.19, but only until the promo ends. At the end of the day, the day to watch is 31 Oct: does the old rate come back, or do the operators keep cutting?
